What an incredible start to our new season at SOMA Surf! The moment when pre-enrollment officially kicked off — on October 5 — brought together 58 participants and resulted in 46 new registrations. The energy, smiles, and excitement were contagious from the very first wave.

We’re stoked to announce that our groups are now officially formed:

  • The Gliders – mostly 6th graders aged 10 to 12, ready to start exploring the ocean and building confidence in and out of the water.
  • The Riders – mostly 9th graders aged 13 to 14, taking their skills, mindset, and teamwork to the next level.

This year, we’ve expanded our reach, bringing SOMA's impact to new areas - including the city’s fishing zones along the coastline and the neighborhoods surrounding the city. More communities, more connection, more opportunities to share the power of sup-therapy and the ocean.

We’ve already applied our impact measurement tools with all participants, helping us understand and strengthen the positive changes our programs bring. And now, we’re gearing up for the start of SUP sessions on October 20, beginning with two weeks of familiarization - time to get comfortable with each other.

Here’s to a new season full of learning, laughter, and waves.

Let’s ride this one together - the SOMA way.
